We establish collaborations with industry, national labs, and other entities in order to (i) expedite adoption of groundbreaking technologies by society; (ii) stimulate new ideas; and (iii) provide career and training opportunities for MRSEC participants via interactions with non-academic scientists and engineers. We have strong existing collaborations with industry, and as well as an Industrial Advisory Council—including members from Toyota, Abbot Laboratories, Intel, Oxford, and Planartech—that help transition laboratory advances in materials to commercial products and devices. The Illinois MRSEC further engages industry and other stakeholders via their participation in the annual Illinois MRSEC Boot Camp and an industry visiting fellows program.
